  • What is Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries?

    ALSM is a not-for-profit organization that has been serving families for 60 years. Our services and programs now span eight counties including Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Centre, Clearfield, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Somerset. ALSM currently offers care at three retirement living communities, Community Support Services, Counseling, Senior Daily Living Centers, Head Start, Early Head Start, Family Center, Parent-Child Home Program, and child care centers. In 2007, ALSM served more than 3600 clients and provided $2 million of charitable care to those persons who needed care but did not have funds. All of ALSM's staff is dedicated to providing quality, hands-on care personifying the ALSM mission to serve people with love, compassion, and mercy.

    Eligibility requirements vary greatly depending on the location, type of service, and individual family needs. Please contact the program you are interested or call 800.400.2285 to get additional information.


  • What are the fees for ALSM programs/facilities?

    The fees for ALSM programs vary between programs for many reasons.   If you are interested in learning the fee or cost of a particular service, please email or call the location directly.  Please note that third party payments are accepted for almost all of ALSM's services. For example, Medicaid and Medicare may pay for skilled nursing care, SSI for personal care, Title XX for child care, and Office of Aging funds for adult day services at the Senior Daily Living Centers.


  • Do you have to be a Lutheran to receive ALSM services?

    No, Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries' policy is to admit and treat all persons without regard to race color, religious creed, national origin, age, sex, disability, or ancestry.
